Ministries in the YBA area. Please prayerfully review these needs and determine where
God may be leading you to participate.
Sponsor Refugees
...Churches and Individuals needed to assist in sponsoring Burmese families.
Many of these are Karens. Several months ago, Yates Baptist Association
began a new church among the Karens living within the association. Please
call Michael Bond at 489-3396, or email mlbond2@verizon.net for details.
Adopt A School
...meet with the principal to ascertain needs. Principals are always aware of many needs.
Included in these will be notebooks, pencils, paper, etc. Underwear is a need in many
elementary schools. During the summer months, purchase school back packs and fill them
with school supplies. Deliver to the school for distribution by the counselors. Lead a Prayer
Walk around the school. Hold prayer meeting at church for your adopted school.
Volunteers are helpful in all schools.
Apartment Ministries
...school supplies and craft supplies for ministries in apartment complexes. Please deliver to
the YBA Resource Center, 4800 garrett Road, Durham.

Medical-Dental Bus
...dentists and dental assistants needed.
...health care kits (instructions available from the YBA Resource Center).
Inter-Faith Council
...volunteers needed to work in community kitchen, homeless shelter, etc.
Call 929-6380 - office at 110 W Main Street, Carrboro.
Agape Corner
...volunteers to tutor and assist with weekend activities with children.
Afternoon volunteers to work with ADD children (help with homework and
teaching them to clean their rooms). Call Agape Corner at 688-3007.
Linen Closet
...collect single and double sheets, towels, etc. (used or new. Deliver
to Yates Baptist Association Resource Center.
Durham Rescue Mission
...volunteers to assist with serving meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Volunteers are necessary throughout the year. Call Volunteer Coordinator
at 688-9641
...Rescue Treasure Thrift Shoppe (to open May 1), 3220 NC Hwy 55S
(corner of Hwy 55 and Cornwallis Road), 9am - 6pm, Mon-Sat. Volunteers
need to help process donations. For more information call 688-9641,

Scholarships
...for Spanish speakers attending Campbell Divinity School. $200 for pastor
and $100 for spouse. Call Michael Bond at 489-3396.
Homestart, Chapel Hill (emergency shelter for homeless
women and children)
...volunteers to provide on site services during business hours (9am-6pm,
Mon-Fri). Also volunteers (day and night) needed to assist with children's
activities, meals, tutoring, etc. Call 932-6025.
Prison Ministry at Guess Road Prison
Monthly Ministry for Male Inmates
